Welcome to the Land of Sunshine

Namibia draws visitors back time and again with its vast, open landscapes baked in constant sunshine, abundance of wildlife and intriguing diversity of cultures. It offers you what the rest of the world is desperately short in: unlimited space, plenty of wildlife, and complete silence.
Namibia is a fairly large country of contrasting landscapes (from sand desert to sub tropical) with an area of almost those of Germany and France together, and a population of only 2 million. It has 42 450 km (26 377 miles) of road of which 5 450 km (3 386 miles) are tarred.

The climate is semi-arid with temperatures varying from warm to hot and depending on the altitude above sea level(0 to 2400m./7870 ft.) - daytime highs in July (winter): 20-25° C (68-77 °F), November (end of dry season): 30-45°C (86-113°F), February (rain season): 25-40°C (77-104°F) - with cold nights during winter time. Namibia has over 320 days of sunshine per year.
Almost unnecessary to say is that the perfect way to discover and experience this sun-covered paradise is in a 4x4 vehicle, driving from campfire to campfire.

Who is Asco Car Hire cc?

Asco Car Hire maintains a large and new fleet of motor vehicles for hire for trips through southern Africa. Our set-up includes not only a fleet of impeccable 4x4 vehicles but also a complex of modern offices, and a fully equipped workshop and panel beating-/ body shop, both manned by highly qualified and professional technicians. With that come storage facilities for tyres, spare parts and camping equipment, a car wash, and a tow-in service.

What can Asco Car Hire offer you?

First of all we supply you with a new or very recent 4x4 vehicle, which is technically adapted to our exciting but often harsh African roads and tracks. All our vehicles are being maintained to perfection and are subject to a comprehensive service before we hand them over to you. A spade, a jack, 3 spare belts, a large wheel spanner, a complete toolbox, an air pump, a danger triangle, a tow rope, a wooden support block for the jack, a first aid kit, a brush set, and a tyre pressure-gauge come with every 4x4 vehicle, free of charge. Also included in the price are 2 spare wheels and a 55 liter extra fuel tank or a jerry can.

We back you up with our own excellent 24/24 hours breakdown service. In the unlikely event that your car should break down, you won't lose any valuable holiday time waiting for a third party service. We organize you immediate and professional support, whenever it happens, wherever you are.

You get unlimited mileage and for the camping enthusiasts we have special vehicles equipped with roof tents, 12/220V fridges, tables, chairs, sleeping bags, a BBQ set, a gas cooker and gas lights, kitchen boxes containing cutlery and cookery, in short, everything necessary for a comfortable camping trip in the wild.

Although Namibian roads (and southern African roads in general) are well maintained, most of them are gravel (or dirt) roads, often leading through beautiful but remote wildernesses and breathtaking but rugged terrain, only negotiable by 4x4. Many overseas visitors, while being experienced in driving on tarred roads, are little acquainted with gravel and off-road driving. In order to help you anticipate what lies ahead, we will advise you extensively on how to handle your vehicle on our Namibian roads.

The Asco Car Hire Team will make sure that you will leave our offices not only with the perfect vehicle and an excellent back-up service, but also with peace of mind so that you can fully enjoy your adventurous holiday in our beautiful Namibia and southern Africa.
